ABOUT ME
Hi! My name is Sanny, I'm 36 years old and originally from Hamburg. I am a professional welder and toolmaker, and after 10 years of work I decided to start following my dreams. I moved to Cornwall, where I have been learning from blacksmith Dan Harding Snr. (Pencarn Forge), who has been a blacksmith for the past 45 years. Here I design and make hand-forged, fabricated, or engineered bespoke, functional and decorative ironwork.
I feel passionate about combining old and new, which is why I choose to blend modern engineering techniques with the art of traditional forging. I hope to be able to transform things that might otherwise be unnoticed - like door hinges- into pieces of art that draw the attention of people. My aim is to create art that contributes to society in a way by creating an environment full of beautiful forms and by bringing more beauty into our daily surroundings.
